As we round out our time in Colombia, here are the cool things about the beach near Santiago de Tolu.
We arrived on Saturday with our stomachs full from Tolu's finest chicken.
We went on a lot of long walks on the beach, and we noticed how almost all of the tourists here are from Medellin or Bogota. There are very few foreigners, which makes it more interesting for us. We also noticed the BEAUTIFUL Caribbean Sea.

Eliza was queen for a day because she won at Quixx. That means she won ten games before anyone else, so she could be in charge of all of us for an entire day.

Jane and I did our presentations on our Colombian research projects. Many thanks to the grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who watched on the computer.

Dear Annie, I was thrilled to read your research project topic "To what extent did the "acllas" (female priests) actually have power in the Inca Empire?" I want to know all about that!
ReplyDeleteI was a little bit sorry to read, "Meanwhile, Mom has been spending eight to ten hours everyday working on Lovett's most amazing schedules."
Happy for Lovett because your mom is a genius, but sorry that she can't just hang out and have fun. But it occurs to me that the Lovett work IS fun for your mom. So not sad.
The photos you included in the blog post are gorgeous, and I agree the Caribbean is beautiful.
I hope Eliza's reign was not one of terror and that your mom's birthday was lots of fun for all of you. I'm also an August baby (that sounded funny! I'm 76 years old!) so your mom and I had a bit of that in common.
I just read Eliza's post, too, and I told her how impressed I am with your family's health - hiking 12 km and at that elevation!
